Victoria Jane Photography -A short preview of my wedding photography

Victoria Jane Photography -A short preview of my wedding photography

Wow were has the time gone? My poor old blog has been rather neglected over the last year … although for a good reason 🙂 I decided to take a little less work on so I could play Mummy a little bit more to our new beautiful daughter Livy, who has just turned 1 !

Were to start ? I have so many fabulous weddings to add and some really exciting corporate jobs I’ve had the honour to photograph over the last year. But Rome wasn’t built in a day and so rather than try rushing to post everything I thought Id have a look back over the last year or so and design a little video showing some of my favourite wedding photographs.

Being a professional Wedding photographer is such a wonderful privilege.  Not only do I get to be part of your special day (& maybe even eat a slice of cake!) but I get to create memories for you that will last a life time… precious memories that you’ll be able to look back on in years to come and smile, and maybe even shed a tear, reminiscing about your amazing day. And I have been lucky enough to have been allowed to create those irreplaceable memories, frozen in time, for hundreds and hundreds of lovely couples.

So how can I choose my favourite images as I must have an archive of 100’s of thousands of images.  Well the honest answer is I couldn’t, as I have too many :-),  so instead I chose a handful of images which hopefully captures who I am a photographer and give you an idea about how passionate I am about what I can do for you. What ever your preferred style, relaxed reportage photography, more classic photography or even unique contemporary photography & I happy to listen to your hopes for your Special day.

I’d love to hear from you if you have an up coming Wedding and would like a professional photographer. From small intimate registry office weddings to Grand Stately Homes, Id love to be part of your special day, capturing & creating life long memories for you, and even more favourite photographs for me!

Amy & Dave’s Wedding by Victoria Jane Photography

Amy & Dave’s Wedding was a pleasure to photograph.  I’m so pleased that I could be part of their special day.

Amy & Dave had chosen to get married at St Mary’s Church, Clifton On Dunsmore, followed by Brownsover Hall.  Amy had asked me to meet her at Brownsover Hall where she was getting ready with her family, including her lovely little bridesmaids.

I left Amy to finish getting ready & headed to St Mary’s to meet Dave & his Groom’s men. I spent about 20 minutes photographing the lads before also capturing the setting of the Church & various personal details of their wedding.

Amy & Dave had chosen to have some of their photos at the Church followed by more at Brownsover.  A particular request from Amy way my ‘confetti shot’.  Amy had seen this shot from one of my other weddings & had really like it.  It’s a little time consuming to edit  but the result was definitely worth it :).  I know Amy & Dave loved it too as they chose to have a large canvas of it for their living room wall.

Once I had photographed all the requested group shots I took Amy & Dave off for a short time to capture some beautiful pictures of the newlyweds together.  They’re we a great couple to photograph & Amy didn’t stop smiling throughout 🙂

We finished with a picture of them cutting the cake before the wedding breakfast.

The images above are just a small selection taken of the images taken on the day.  Amy & Dave have a password protected gallery on my main site http://www.victoriajanephotography.co.uk.  If you are a friend or family of Amy & Dave please ask them for the password so you can view the rest of the images from the day.

Jane & Stuart’s Wedding at Bosworth Hall – Wedding Photography by Victoria Jane Photography

The day of Jane & Stuart’s wedding arrived & with a glorious sunny day ahead we made our way to meet Jane at Bosworth hall. We had been asked to photography Jane & Stuart’s wedding right from early morning up until the evening celebrations.  After their pre wedding meeting a few weeks earlier it became clear that not only would Jane be the star of the day but their beautiful daughter Jorga would be too :).  Jane & Stuart have a large family & group of friends & a good number of which we’re children.  Jane & Stuart were very keen for the children to be captured naturally, enjoying themselves, as much as possible through out the day. With a large venue, big grounds & lots of children it made it essential that there were two photographers.  Jane & Stuart knew that I often have an assistant photographer with me & knowing also that my little girl Jessica was about the same age as Jorga, were confident that I would be up to the task in hand.  With this in mind we made our way to the bridal suite to meet Jane & the 6 young bridesmaids – Chaos I hear you say? – we’ll to our surprise – exactly the opposite :).  Jane was a very calm, organised bride & not only did she have time to get ready herself but with a little help from family, helped with the 6 bridesmaids & still had time to pose for photos !!

Jane & Stuart’s wedding was a wonderful wedding from start to finish.  Family & friends thoroughly enjoyed themselves (as did I 🙂 ), there was lots of smiles from the children who behaved themselves all day & we had a fantastic time being part of their special day.

Here is just a small selection of photos from Jane & Stuarts Wedding at Bosworth Hall.

Tess & Tom | Wedding photography at The Windmill Village |

Tess and Tom are such a lovely couple that we couldn’t help but smile most of the day.  The wedding ceremony and celebrations all took place at The Windmill Village Hotel, Coventry. We were photographing their wedding right from Tess getting ready until late into the evening celebrations. Tess & Tom were very keen to have not only group & posed shots but as much reportage style photography as time allowed … needless to say, with guests enjoying themselves & the weather on our side, guests spent as much time chatting, drinking & laughing outside, as they could … so plenty of photo opportunities 🙂 !!  Here are just a few photos from their day! ……..

If you are thinking of getting married and you want a fun photographer who offers flexibility along with creativity please give me a call on 07739096632.

Dan & Nic’s upcoming Wedding Photography at Rowton Castle, Shrewsbury | Pre-Wedding Photo-Shoot

Dan is the elder of my two (younger) brothers! He is finally getting married to his lovely fiancee, Nicola, in May this year 🙂

They have chosen to get married at St Georges Church followed by their reception at Rowton Castle, a beautiful 17th century grade II listed building, not far from Shrewsbury in Shropshire.

As I have not had the opportunity to photograph at either venue it was a good excuse to meet up for the day to look around both venues.

The Church congregation & Minister were incredibly welcoming & after coffee & biscuits we had chance to look around the church & take some pictures inside. We finally braved the gale-force winds & headed on to Rowton Castle ……after making a quick pit-stop for a carvery mmmm 🙂

Despite the grey skies and the cold on this damp & blustery day,  the first impression of Rowton Castle certainly didn’t disappoint … & what could have been better than walking in from the cold to be greeted by a big hug from Jack, the owner, then having a hot, steaming pot of coffee, tea & a huge plate piled high with biscuits served to us in-front of a roaring log fire ? … Well, if that wasn’t good enough we were then encouraged, by Jack, to help ourselves to Creme Brulee, Scones, Victoria Sponge Cake & an array of other delights … So much for my diet in order to get in to my dress ready for their wedding!!!

Sorry … this is meant to be a blog about my photography, not my weaknesses & lack of will-power when surrounded by all things sweet & sugary … however, it was just too good not to at least mention it 🙂

So back to the photography … What can I say, other than I think we’re going to be spoilt for choice … inside & out!

Below are just a few pictures taken from around Rowton Castle … please look back here towards the end of May to see some more from Dan & Nic’s actual Wedding day 🙂

As I said earlier, I’ve not photographed a wedding at Rowton castle in Shropshire before. It is, after-all, a little outside my normal Warwickshire area! However, if you’ve got a wedding arranged there and you think you’d like a really good photographer who can produce some imaginative images in beautiful albums please do give me a call on 07739096632. Despite the distance from my home I will certainly seriously consider photographing weddings at Rowton Castle in the future!

Sarah & Darren’s Wedding | Photography at the Forest hotel in Dorridge, West Midlands

After a busy Christmas most people like to chill out … Not Sarah 🙂 … as well as her tireless fund raising for Macmillan Cancer Support in Coventry & Warkwickshire, being a full-time mum & preparing for Christmas, Sarah was also organising her wedding … which included making all her guests individual cup cakes (yum) – Mad, I know!

So I guess it was quite fitting that she used equally mad photographers to capture her & Darren’s special day

– Stuart (Will the mad fool make it?) Kettell & myself !!

We’ve both known Sarah for a number of years & as well as all being good friends, Stuart & I (more recently) also help raise money for Macmillan.

The Weather can always be an interesting challenge for the photographer & today was no exception! The ground still had a light covering of snow, in patches, & as we approached The Forest Hotel in Dorridge we also had a thick fog to contend with.

Below are a selection of images from Sarah & Darren’s Wedding day

As Sarah & the girls get ready …

… We meet the two most important young men of the day!

Also in the above picture we have the Groom, Darren (bottom rhs) & best man (bottom lhs).

Apparently they are always this angelic!

Sarah’s bridesmaids looking stunning.

Sarah’s Dad proudly walks his daughter down the aisle.

The exchange of rings followed by the reading “the Lovely other Dinosaur” by Sarah’s sister.  Proudly helping out, Sarah & Darren’s boys hold up drawings they’ve made to illustrate the poem – ahh 🙂

The Kiss!

It’s official.

The lengths we’ll go to as photographers to get the shot …

Darren serenades his beautiful bride

(while I stand in 4″ of water on the flat roof of the hotel just to capture the moment)

Sarah had thought of everything ……… 🙂

For the observant among you, even the photographers ended up being photographed!!

And as the evening drew to an end …

… We had time for one final image ♥

Michelle and Richard | Wedding at St Thomas’ Church Keresley and Ansty Hall

Most of the weddings I display on this blog are ones that I do with my husband, Gary. Sometimes it’s nice to work with different people to share ideas. This, for me, was another opportunity to work with another photographer and videographer. I was asked to do some photographs at this lovely wedding at St Thomas’ church in Keresley, followed by a reception at Ansty Hall, Ansty near to Coventry. All of the photographs of Michelle and Richard shown below were taken by me ………….

Lets start with ‘The Boys’ …..

Hogging the road, but why not ? … it’s the bride’s day!

One of my trademark images (Bride and father) … but often a favourite among the couple’s choices …

Michelle looked absolutely lovely …. beautiful colours in the flowers too!

The service inside the lovely church

Another example of how having more than one photographer (as we do for most of our wedding packages) allows us to get the shots that one photographer on their own couldn’t do! I was at the back this time …..

PS – Love those vivid blue bridesmaids dress colours – popular this year!

And then it was on to the impressive Ansty Hall at Ansty near to Coventry

It’s nice to get some of the cars before they leave …. fabulous Rolls and Daimler

And now turning our attention to ‘The Girls’ … and don’t they look fantastic?

Michelle in her fabulous dress – she looked absolutely beautiful!

Michelle and Richard having some quiet time together.

Notice the split focus image on the right. If I had a ‘Favourite Poses Category’ this would be one of the images in it!

More time for Michelle to show off that lovely dress!

And lets not forget that it’s a fun day … so I do everything I can to make sure that the bride and groom and their guests enjoy their photographs ….

Another look at the venue (Ansty Hall) …..

And it was just as impressive inside! ……

I love the coordinated table and chair decorations …. in line with the blue bridesmaids dresses theme.

And on to the evening entertainment …. the first dance …..

Whenever I am booked to do a wedding until the first dance it is very rare for me to leave straight afterwards. I like to capture the joy of other people enjoying themselves on the dance floor too.

……………..

I hope you enjoyed looking at my wedding images from St Thomas’ Church in Coventry and the Ansty hall at Ansty near to Coventry. Whether you were at this wedding or not I’d love to hear your comments. Please feel free to make a comment by clicking the link below. If you’ve got a wedding coming up and you need a photographer please look me up (o7739096632). I’m now booking for late 2010, 2011 and (for those VERY organised brides!) 2012 as well!

Leeds Castle – Inside (fit for a king!)

Since doing the wedding in Kent I’ve been asked by quite a few people if the castle is as nice inside as it is on the outside. See what you think! ………

Front View - Leeds Castle

And here’s a photo that I took before the formals began ….

Just like my dining room at home 🙂

What do you think? It really is a beautiful castle ….. and obviously a fantastic venue for a wedding! Future brides and grooms – start saving now!
