Alissa & Matt’s Wonderful Welcombe Wedding

Alissa & Matt’s Wonderful Welcombe Wedding

A few weeks ago I had the privilege of photographing Alissa & Matts wonderful Welcombe Wedding.  The sun was shining & the beautiful gardens out if full bloom. After a quick wander around the grounds capturing the hotel which is surrounded by 157 acres of landscaped grounds – so plenty to photography, Leah who was will me to 2nd shoot, & I made our way to the bridal suite.

On our way up the beautiful stair case we passed a lady, rushing the other way.  Not thinking much to it other than there being a resemblance to Alissa we went to find how Alissa & the girls were getting on.  We were introduced to all her bridesmaids except her sister – who Alissa said had had to rush off to tend to the best man.  It turn out Alissa sister lucky was a doctor & the best man had come down with gastric flu and was sick in bed… not the best timing unfortunately on your best friends wedding day but he was determined not to let his friends down & wanted to carry on. I have to say considering I knew how poorly he was feeling he did amazingly well to carry on all day!

We finished the bridal preparations in the fabulous bridal suite before Leah & I met Matt & the guys in the grounds to get some images of Matt and his grooms men.

Alissa & her mom made a fabulous entrance in to the nestfield suite following her lovely niece & nephew & bridesmaids down the Aisle towards the clearly emotional Matt. After a lovely ceremony fully of laughter & tears of happiness the guests made their way outside to enjoy the sun, canapés & pimms.

Before any wedding I always make sure either the bride & groom have popped over for a coffee & catch up or at the very least had a phone call if they just can’t make it over,  to go through what is important to then & what they would like in terms of group photographs & couple images.  This way on an already busy day where the time seems to speed up 3 fold, I can make sure I capture all of those important shots but in the quickest and most organised way. And lets face in no one wants to spend hours fluffing around having a very long (unnecessary) photo-session when they could be drinking pimms & eating the nibble :-D.

We made the most of the time we had to wander around the grounds surrounding the Welcombe as well as inside on the beautiful ornate stair case as Alissa had requested.

Alissa had already asked if after the meal & speeches her & Matt could go back outside & capture some more images during the beautiful golden hour.  Certainly wouldn’t hear me complaining at that request 🙂

A fabulous day turned in to a joyous evening & just shortly after the first dance Id noticed a reflection of the sky in the windows.  I grabbed Matt & Alissa & said I promise this will be worth it before racing to the bottom of the grounds to capture the most amazing sunset that I had seen over the summer.

As my day drew to an end I left the happy couple dancing the night away.  Congratulations Alissa & Matt, I can’t wait to finish your album so you can hold the story of your beautiful wedding day ion your hands xx

Coombe Abbey Wedding photography | Marie & Julian’s Wedding

Coombe Abbey Wedding photography | Marie & Julian’s Wedding

Julian & Marie had chosen to have a Coombe Abbey Wedding, holding their special day in Coombe’s Marque on the beautiful East terrace.

I’m always very grateful when i receive a personal recommendation for my wedding photography 🙂 & after been given my details from his friend, Julian had called to talk about booking me as their wedding photographer.

The first thing I remember about Julian was his infectious laugh & how easy it was to chat with him. I knew this would be a lovely wedding to be part of. After we had gone through what he was looking for he also mentioned that he and Marie had wondered about having a wedding videographer.

As well as being Married, Stuart (kettell video productions) & I have worked together for years. Filming & photographing hundreds of weddings together throughout the whole of the UK including many Coombe Abbey Wedding’s.  To have another wonderful opportunity & to both be chosen to be part of Julian’s & Marie’s wedding was great 🙂

What a lovely day -as Stuart & I arrived at Coombe Abbey the Sun was shining, the weather was great & Julian didn’t stop smiling from the moment I saw him step out of the limousine. Marie & her ladies were equally as smiley. 😀

Julian & Marie has chosen to have their entire day filmed & photographed & afterward had asked me to produce a beautiful wedding album.

Below are just a few pages from the gorgeous wedding album I designed for then… & going by the bottle of champaign & very delicious box of choccies that they brought us as thank you gift… they were delighted by their wedding images, album & video.

Beth & Chris’s Wedding – St Peter’s Church Dunchurch, Warwickshire.

Beth & Chris’s Wedding – St Peter’s Church Dunchurch, Warwickshire.

Beth & Chris had chosen to get married in St Peter’s Church Dunchurch, Warwickshire followed by a reception in the beautiful settings of Beth’s Parent’s Home.

I had met with Beth & Chris a few weeks before their wedding to chat through what photographs they would like and what was most important to them, for me to capture.

As well as the traditional images and groups Beth & Chris really liked the more candid reportage style photos & so I suggested that I would bring one of my second photographers, Gemma to capture some additional images.  The suggestion of photographing the hard hats also cropped up & it’ll become clear as to why this was relevant!

The day of their wedding arrived & the weather was near perfect, always a good start 🙂

After spending the morning at the family home, with Beth & her family, where they we enjoying getting ready we then made our way to St Peter’s Church.

St Peter’s is a 14th century ‘usually’ picturesque church situated in the central square in Duchurch, however, for Beth & Chris’s wedding we had already been pre warned that St Peter’s was undergoing much needed major work on the tower & walls.  This had required the entire tower to be covered in scaffolding & sheet corrugated iron !  Fab for the church, not so great for wedding photographs! Beth & Chris had decided to embrace the ‘new look’ of the church rather than moan about the unfortunate backdrop & had even had two builder’s hard hats decorated by a friend, for the occasion.

After a lovely Church service & photos around the grounds … incorporating the hard hats! we made our way back to Beth’s family home , in Dunchurch, to carry on the celebrations. After capturing all of the group images Beth & Chris had requested we then got to spend some time around the grounds of their family farm home capturing posed & more natural shots of Beth & Chris. We maximised on the wonderful weather & fantastic props around the grounds including bales of hay & a great big red tractor :-).

The wedding reception was held in a superbly decorated marquee at the bottom of their garden.

I was lucky enough to enjoy a superb meal & the most amazing dessert (well it would have been rude to refuse!) before photographing the speeches.

Below are just a few of the images captured at Beth & Chris’s wedding.

If you or someone you know is getting married in and around Warwickshire (or even further afield!) & would like to chat about having your wedding photographed by a professional photographer please do not hesitate to call or email.

I’ll look forward to hearing from you x

Victoria Jane Photography -A short preview of my wedding photography

Victoria Jane Photography -A short preview of my wedding photography

Wow were has the time gone? My poor old blog has been rather neglected over the last year … although for a good reason 🙂 I decided to take a little less work on so I could play Mummy a little bit more to our new beautiful daughter Livy, who has just turned 1 !

Were to start ? I have so many fabulous weddings to add and some really exciting corporate jobs I’ve had the honour to photograph over the last year. But Rome wasn’t built in a day and so rather than try rushing to post everything I thought Id have a look back over the last year or so and design a little video showing some of my favourite wedding photographs.

Being a professional Wedding photographer is such a wonderful privilege.  Not only do I get to be part of your special day (& maybe even eat a slice of cake!) but I get to create memories for you that will last a life time… precious memories that you’ll be able to look back on in years to come and smile, and maybe even shed a tear, reminiscing about your amazing day. And I have been lucky enough to have been allowed to create those irreplaceable memories, frozen in time, for hundreds and hundreds of lovely couples.

So how can I choose my favourite images as I must have an archive of 100’s of thousands of images.  Well the honest answer is I couldn’t, as I have too many :-),  so instead I chose a handful of images which hopefully captures who I am a photographer and give you an idea about how passionate I am about what I can do for you. What ever your preferred style, relaxed reportage photography, more classic photography or even unique contemporary photography & I happy to listen to your hopes for your Special day.

I’d love to hear from you if you have an up coming Wedding and would like a professional photographer. From small intimate registry office weddings to Grand Stately Homes, Id love to be part of your special day, capturing & creating life long memories for you, and even more favourite photographs for me!

Another busy week coming up including Photographing a Wedding at Stoneleigh Abbey

Phew! 🙂

Christmas seems like months ago! I’ve not stopped over the Christmas period and I only managed a short 3 day break at new year before everything kicked off again. In the last week I’ve had loads of enquiries from Midlands and Warwickshire couples who are interested employing me for their wedding photography. I’ve also started to get enquiries from a little further afield and it looks like I’ll be doing more than one wedding in the Peak district this year and at least one in South Wales.

Today I did a pre-wedding photo shot for a lovely couple, Natalie and James, whom Gary and I met at the fabulous Ettington Park hotel. We’re photographing their wedding at Ettington Park in April. Images to follow later.

My wedding season gets off to a great start with a wedding at Stoneleigh Abbey at Stoneleigh on the outskirts of Coventry and Kenilworth. I met up with the wedding co-ordinator, Angela, earlier this week to look at the venue properly. It’s going to be a fabulous location for some great shots. Take a look! ……..

The couple who are getting married, Gretchen and Craig, actually live in Australia and I’m yet to meet them.  They found my blog, liked my work and we’ve made all of the arrangements by email. I’m sure they’ll love their chosen venue!

Watch this space for an update.

Judy and Hotshot ‘Steve’ | Wedding Photography at Kenilworth Methodist Church & then The Woodside

We had a great day doing the wedding photography for fun-loving Judy and her Hotshot (now husband) Steve. It was a really relaxed day and all the better for it! Judy and Hotshot got married at the Methodist church in Kenilworth and then had their sit-down reception meal and evening celebrations at the lovely Woodside hotel, also in Kenilworth. We were at the church from about an hour before the start to about an hour or so after the first dance in the evening at the Woodside. It was a day to remember, not least for one of the best ‘Best man Speeches’ I’ve ever heard …. and I’ve heard a good few! Well done Andy! One of the things that I really liked about this wedding was the feeling of being part of a community – and everyone had such a great sense of humour. We were made to feel very welcome and I’m hoping that everyone who sees the images will like them.

The following photos are a taster. There are more images to come on this blog later tonight or tomorrow and I’ll be presenting Judy and Steve with many more images on my password protected website once I’ve finished editing them. Here goes …..

The ‘boys!’ …. colourful character is ‘hotshot’ Steve …..

The ‘Girls’ with lovely Judy in her fab dress far left …..

Time for a few snaps just before the service, Steve was already waiting inside at this point

The service inside Kenilworth Methodist Church – great service, relaxed and fun …

…. and two photographers capturing it from different angles without disturbing anyone.

Just married ….

First time, briefly alone as Mr and Mrs ….

I’m going to add a confetti shot here. Gary is still working on it !!! Husbands eh!

The ‘kids’ …..

And then on to the lovely Woodside hotel only 5 minutes away ….

Big group shot from two angles ….

Time for a few group shots …. I reckon the girls got into the spirit a little better at first!

Bridesmaids looked stunning while the men were very smart ….

After the group shots we had 10 minutes of ‘alone time’

Judy, looking suitably amused by her man. Now, did he put that there?

And back to the celebrations …. and a little beer …. and many laughs …. 🙂

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a bride smile quite so much as Judy did! And, to add to the colourful characters we had a few 4-legged friends ….

Then inside for the speeches….

So funny! One of the best ‘Best Man speeches’ I’ve ever heard. Hard to keep the cameras still from laughing! Almost forgot that we weren’t actually guests and had to remember to concentrate on the photography ……Well done Andy!

Don’t ask about this next one! …..

After the hilarity it’s back outside to enjoy the evening sun and to get some fresh air (and bubbles)!

And for the start of several more hours of celebrations in the evening …..

That’s it for now … I’m still working on the hundreds of images that Gary and I took at Judy and Steve’s wedding. If you were there and you’d like to make a comment about these ‘teaser images’ or our photography on the day please click on the green link below. We love comments!

Please Check back here later for that confetti shot. It takes much longer to prepare than others.
