Jen and Tony’s Surprise 40th Wedding Anniversary | Photographed by Victoria Jane Photography at the Warwickshire Country Club

It was July and the middle of my very hectic wedding season, which i love…… but it made a nice change when I was asked to photograph the celebrations at a Surprise wedding anniversary party. Jen and Tony have been married for 40 years (Wow!) and their daughter-in-law contacted me and asked me if I would attend for a couple of hours and capture the fun and celebrations of their family and friends. The party was held at the Warwickshire Golf and Country Club in Leek Wooton between Kenilworth and Warwick.

I love doing this sort of thing. To be honest, the pressure is off and I can concentrate on people watching and capturing the little things that make the celebrations special. Anyway, here goes with a small taster of my images  ……

Wedding Photography at St Botolph’s Church in Newbold on Avon and Ansty Hall | Jade and Lewis Photographed by Victoria Jane Photography

Today I had another great day! This time the pressure was off me a little as I was sharing the responsibility for photographing Jade and Lewis’s wedding with my friend and fellow photographer, Lisa Scott. It was a lovely day, with the weather being kind to us. I started my wedding photography at the groom’s house while Lisa met the bride at Ansty hall where she was getting ready. I moved on to photograph Lewis, his best man and ushers at the church while Lisa stayed with Jade and her bridesmaids until their arrival at the church. During the service I was at the back of the church while Lisa was positioned at the front. Afterwards, we split the group shots at the church and at Ansty hall.  Anyway, enough of the words …… I’ll let my photos do the talking now!! These are all photographs that I took today ……

Beth & Steve’s Pre Wedding Photo Shoot at Stone Barn near Burford & St. Mary’s Church in Chipping Norton

We originally met Beth and Steve at a wedding that we photographed last year. Steve was an Usher at Lara and Martin’s wedding at the Charlecote pheasant hotel near Stratford upon Avon. The ushers at that wedding were really well organised and pro active so I was delighted when Steve contacted me to say that he and Beth were getting married this year and wanted to book me to do their wedding photography. They get married in a few weeks time in the Cotswolds and today was the day that we met up to discuss their wedding photographs in detail, to view the locations and to have a fun photo shoot session to get them used to being the main attractions in-front of the camera …  As you can see Beth took the photo shoot very seriously 😀

Here goes with a small selection of the photos I took today, I think they’ll love the images 🙂

Stone Barn (above) near to Burford in the Cotswolds is a new location for us and so I wanted to visit it to see what it is like and to plan my photographs. I was surprised and delighted at how lovely the location turned out to be. I can see why they chose it. There are so many opportunities to get great shots, especially if you are a lover of the countryside and interesting rustic buildings.

We also spent a good hour or so inside the lovely St Mary’s church in Chipping Norton in the Cotswolds. The church is lovely inside and out and we’ve planned that I’ll have a little bit of a surprise up my sleeve when it comes to a congregation group shot after the marriage service!

I’ll be posting a sample of my wedding photos of Beth and Steve’s actual wedding day on this blog later on in August. I’m sure that it will be a great day. They are a lovely couple; very photogenic and very relaxed in front of the camera. Gary will be second-shooting for me  and we are looking forward to capturing the story of their day with a nice mixture of formal and relaxed informal shots at both venues. Watch this space!!

Becki & Gareth’s Pre Wedding Photo Shoot at Ettington Chase Hotel in Stratford

With a busy August ahead, July is chocked full of pre wedding meetings & a number of pre-wedding photoshoots.

This weekend was the turn of Becki & Gaz.

I first meet Becki & Gaz around a year ago so it was great to catch up properly, stroll around Ettington Chase hotel & discuss their photographic wish list.

As a wonderful keep-sake, Becki & Gaz were keen to have one of the images taken from this photo shoot as a centrepiece of a photo mount so that their friends & families can sign it on their wedding day  … I’ll look forward to seeing which image they choose 🙂

Becki & Gaz were a great couple to photograph & I’m very much looking to their wedding date later on in August this year !

Laura and Paddy’s Outdoor Wedding at Warwick House | Photographed by Victoria Jane Photography

I was really excited about being asked to do the photography at Laura and Paddy’s wedding. Firstly, they are a fun couple; easy going with a great sense of humour and open to ideas and suggestions about their photography on the day. Secondly, Warwick house in Southam is a relatively new wedding venue and it was the first time that I’d photographed a weddng there, and thirdly, Laura and Patrick had opted to have their wedding ceremony outside! …… We were hoping for good weather!

The day arrived, we were there early, and thanks to the wonderful staff at warwick house, everything was looking lovely. An added bonus was a sunny day, if a little windy at times. We had been asked to photograph the day until the start of the sit-down meal. Here’s a taster of their day …..

I really enjoyed the day and I think the wedding photos show that Laura and Patrick and their guests did too. For any couples getting married in the warwickshire area who want the option of an outside wedding I would definitely recommend adding Warwick house in Southam to your list of venues to explore….. and now, of course, I’d love to speak to any couples who are getting married at Warwick house and are looking for a fun, friendly, enthusiastic wedding photographer.

A message For Laura and Paddy and their Guests – viewing all of the edited images

I have edited all of the images for Laura and Paddy’s wedding at Warwick House and they have been posted on their password-protected gallery on my other website. Laura and Danny | Wedding Photography at St. Margaret’s Church in Crick and then Wethele Manor

We really enjoyed this wedding! Laura and Danny are such a lovely couple; the sort of people that you warm to immediately! I knew in our first meeting that I wanted to photograph their wedding and that they would be the sort of people that would appreciate the effort that we go to. I could tell this simply by the effort that they, and their family and friends, have obviously gone to in order to make their day that extra bit special.

We started off by travelling to Laura’s lovely family home in Crick for some bridal preparation photographs. We spent an hour or so taking photographs of some of the little details that added to the day; the beautiful flowers in their garden, the specially chosen shoes and dresses for Laura and her bridesmaids, the decor of the house, Jewellery etc…. as well as some quiet family photographs in the back garden.

From there, a short walk up to St. Margaret’s church, which unfortunately was steeped in scaffolding due to recent restoration work (I dare you to see it in the photos though!). Gary was at the back during the service, sometimes at floor level and discretely and silently moving up onto the organist balcony for a better viewpoint. I stayed at the front to capture the ‘action’ close-up.

After some group photos in the church grounds and a nice confetti shot we all drove to the very lovely and relaxing Wethele Manor near to Leamington Spa. This was a new Warwickshire venue for us but I’ve no doubt we’ll be back there some time soon. We did some more group photographs as well as some of Laura and Danny on their own before going inside the impressive marquee for the fantastic food supplied by Aubrey Allen catering. In the evening there was a disco, plenty of relaxing for guests outside in the sunshine and our photo booth proved, once again, to be a a real highlight and a source of great amusement.

Sinead and Matthew | Wedding Photography at Abbey Church, Erdington, The Boat House, Sutton Park and The Belfry

Three venues on one lovely day! – Four if you count starting and finishing at the Belfry!

We met Matt and Sinead when they were attending a work’s Party and we were the resident photographers at the Hilton Hotel Christmas and New Year party events at the NEC last December. A quick chat about what we did, followed by a more in-depth meeting to show our wedding photography work at the Belfry and they booked us straight away.

We started around 9 am by photographing Sinead and her Bridesmaids getting ready in their room at the Belfry. We spent an hour or so capturing the fun and excitement of getting ready and ensuring that we captured the details of Sinead’s gorgeous wedding dress, her jewellery, all of their shoes, and having their hair and make-up done.

From there we moved on to Abbey church in Erdington to photograph a few fun shots of the groom with his ushers and best man before Sinead arrived for the wedding service.

Abbey church is very ornate and quite grand inside and so we made sure that we captured some of the interior architecture in our shots during the service with me positioned at the front with my 50mm prime lens (great in low light!) and Gary right at the very back with his telephoto zooms.

After a lovely service, Matt and Sinead were keen to have a few formal posed group photographs of family and friends in the Abbey church grounds before moving on to the Boat House restaurant in the middle of Sutton Park in Sutton Coldfield. The weather was kind, and was very sunny at times, if a little windy. It was great to have a little time with the newly-weds and their close friends to do a few more relaxed and fun shots in-front of the lake and in the woodland area.

Later on in the evening we travelled back to the Belfry for the evening celebrations with many more guests and we stayed until 11:30pm in order to photograph the cake cutting, dancing …… and, of course, let the guests have a laugh or two in our very popular wedding photo booth!

As you can tell from this blog post it was a very long day and we took hundreds of photographs. Downloading them onto our computers and back-up storage systems took several hours …… and that was before I started editing them! I’m incredibly busy with wedding photography every week at the moment and It’s going to take a while to go through all of Sinead and Matt’s wedding photographs in order to create a really nice set of images that record the day properly. When they are done we will post them on their password-protected gallery on our main website. Matt and Sinead will then be able to have a good look though and choose the images they’d like for their bespoke wedding album. Check back here a little later for the link if you’d also like to have a closer look – You’ll have to get the password from Matt or Sinead though!

Meanwhile, we must be doing something right because we’re nearly fully booked throughout the 2011 summer season and we are taking plenty of advance bookings for 2012 and 2013 already! If you are getting married in Warwickshire or the Midlands, or if you know of someone who is, and you need a photography service that’s second to none, I’d like to think that’s what we offer! Give me a call on 07739096632 to see if we’re free. I’d love to hear from you.

If you like these sample images or if you were there PLEASE MAKE A COMMENT – I LOVE COMMENTS!

Nicola and Daniel | Wedding Photography at Rowton Castle in Shrewsbury

Well, it finally arrived – my brother’s wedding!

After 10 years together Dan married Nicola this bank holiday Monday at the fantastic Rowton Castle hotel in Shrewsbury. As well as being a guest (obviously) I was also behind the camera – I couldn’t help myself 🙂 ! This time though, Gary wasn’t acting as my second-shooter because he was not only looking after our daughter, who was a beautiful flower girl, but was also one of the ushers! So instead, I roped in a trusted colleague & friend Stuart Kettell (of Kettell Video Productions in Coventry, whom I often work along-side and  photograph on his mad Macmillan charity challenges) to handle a lot of the photography for us.

Our present to Nic and Dan will be a fantastic bespoke digital album that I will create over the next few weeks using my images and Stuart’s images from the day.

I’ve just got home and spent the last hour or two making numerous back-ups of our images (as I always do) and I’ve noticed a few facebook (iphone and compact camera) images from the wedding appearing already! …… So as not to be out done I thought I’d better post a few sneaky peak photos from a real camera! Here are a just few of my favourite photos I took ………

A personal message to my family, our guests and friends of Dan and Nic
We had a great time and I’m sure that I’ll be able to create an album that Nic and Dan will treasure forever. For family, guests and friends reading this blog, here’s what happens next: Firstly, remember that I’m photographing and editing loads of other weddings too, some of which came before Nic and Dan’s! As soon as I can I’ll be sorting through all of the hundreds of photos from all 3 cameras. I’ll be editing a nice range of images that tell the story of the day and then I’ll post them on my main gallery website with a password to view them. You can get the password from Dan and Nicola. You’ll get the chance to order professional quality prints if you want to at that stage. The best way is to phone me on 07739096632 and tell me which ones you like!

Meanwhile, I like comments! Please post a comment! Click below to write a sentence or two about the photographs. Your comment will appear ‘live’ on here after I’ve approved it! You’ve never had a better reason than this! ……. Thank you.
