Loton Park Hillclimb – Some Snapshots (non Professional quality)

Last Sunday Gary (my husband, who also does photography with me) took his old Canon 350d camera along to the Loton Park Hill Climb near to Shrewsbury. He wasn’t seriously attempting to do ‘proper shots’ and the camera is no where near the standard that we’d normally use but he still took some nice shots. Here’s a small selection from the hundreds of photos he took………

TVR’s galore from Vixens to Griffiths, Tamoras and T350s

Purple, Not a typical TVR colour maybe …. but you should have heard it!

Loads of little Pugs. Trying really hard and just about with 4 wheels on the tarmac!

Little Vauxhall Corsa’s were also on show

Lifting a wheel in a fabulously quick Lotus Elise – Winner of class I think, and female driver!

Proving that modern Fords are still serious competitors. This White RS Turbo lifting a rear wheel at the final corner.

Nice to see the last MG saloons being put to good use. Striking colours too!

One of several Escorts including Old RS2000s and Mexicos. Great to see them still alive and kicking some of the modern upstarts!

I’m not sure about the times but the older RWD Escorts still seemed competitive around the bends.

If you needed waking up this was the one to do it! I believe it won it’s class and the Audi Quattro was a sight and sound to behold. Cackle, burble, bang … and that was just standing still! What a rocket…. no wonder the Group B rally cars of the 80s were banned for being too fast!

Saturday, apperently was the day for Westfields and Caterham 7s but there were still a few on show on Sunday …. and could they shift? Don’t know about this Orange No.59 but no wonder they are favourites among kit car enthusiasts.

Quite a few single seaters on show and of course they were very quick. Not all was well on this run though …. an argument with the cones about 1/4 of the way up the hill but he still carried on!

Missed out on what this was! ~Lovely car and the driver really gave it some stick!  Please let me know if you know what it is.

– And to finish, We’ve got a soft spot for TVRs so I thought I’d finish this snap shot with this lovely example

If you were at Loton Park for the hill climb on Sunday and your car is featured here please make a comment. If you were there and your car isn’t featured we may still have an image. Let us know it’s number and we’ll have a look. The images are also available to buy if you are interested. I can upload to my main website if you want to order anything……Just let me know.

I know Gary had a great time at this really friendly event and he wished he’d taken his pro camera and lenses …. but I suspect he’ll be back there in September.

Pre-Wedding Photo Shoot at Charlecote Pheasant Hotel | Carrie and Chris

Here’s a snap shot of some of the images from another Pre-wedding shoot at Charlecote Pheasant Hotel near to Stratford upon Avon. Chris and Carrie brought along their daughter who will also have a starring role at their wedding … so it’s just as well that she got a chance to see what it’s like infront of the camera too!

I’ve put the full set of images on my main website for them to view but for now here’s a taster ….

They are a lovely family and I’m really looking forward to photographing their special day.

I do pre-wedding shoots for all of my album and digital packages so that couples get to know me better, they have a taster of what to expect on the day, start to get used to being in-front of the camera and they can give me a better idea of what they are/are not comfortable with.

Please leave a comment or ask a question about my pre-wedding shoots (see below).

Natalie and Lee | Pre-Wedding Photo Shoot at Charlecote Pheasant Hotel

I really like the run-up to photographing a wedding …. and one of the things I like doing the best is meeting up with the bride and groom a week or two earlier to finalise their plans and to take some practice shots. It’s fun and informal and it allows the couple to get used to the camera and gives them a good idea of what to expect on the day. Natalie and Lee are getting married in a couple of weeks at the lovely Charlecote Pheasant hotel near to Stratford upon Avon. Here’s a teaser from their pre-wedding shoot ………………..

We 'wheely' liked doing these photos!

Getting Comfortable

Laid back couple

Relaxing in the garden

It'll soon be time to carry her over the threshold!

Natalie and Lee are a great couple with a lovely sense of humour – and they know what they want! I’m looking forward to seeing if I can achieve some of the more unusual shots that Natalie wants me to try with some of the guests on their wedding day. If the guests are anything like Natalie and Lee I think We’ve got a good chance! Watch this space!

Billesley Manor | Warwickshire Wedding Photography by Victoria Jane Photography

I’ve been asked to photograph a wedding at Billesley Manor just outside Stratford Upon Avon this Thursday.  This is a new Warwickshire venue for me but I spent a couple of hours or so today walking the grounds, identifying good locations for photographs, checking light levels, talking to the wedding co-ordinator and taking some practice shots. This is what Billesley manor looks like …..

As you can see, its a pretty impressive place. I met the bride and groom a week or two ago and I know they’re going to have a great time. I can’t wait and I’ll post more images after the wedding.

Kayley and Adam: Wedding Photography by Victoria Jane Photography

Today (Saturday 7th August) was one of the nicest weddings that any photographer could hope to be a part of.

What a lovely couple Kayley and Adam are ….. and their guests too!

They had their marriage ceremony at Carters Lane church in Halesowen followed by a lovely reception meal and evening disco at the Westmead hotel in Hopwood. The weather was predicted to be against us today but we were lucky enough to find some breaks in between the showers to get some decent photos outside. Kayley and Adam are both very photogenic as you’ll see below, the bridesmaids looked absolutely lovely and the groomsmen were not only great fun but they were really helpful and co-operative all day.

They had booked one of my album packages where my husband, Gary, and I both attended. I’ve spent a couple of hours so far reviewing the many images that we got and I’m really pleased! We always do our best to get the shots that our Brides and Grooms ask for whilst capturing the full ‘story of the day’ and hopefully injecting some ‘fun’ without being too intrusive. Hopefully, we succeeded. Here’s a taster of the images to come for Kayley and Adam ……………….

Many Congratulations to Kayley and Adam!

If you were a guest or if you want to view the images when they are fully prepared you’ll need to visit my main site (click on my image on the right hand side of this blog). You’ll need to get a password from Adam or Kayley in order to view (and buy if you wish) the images. I anticipate that it will take me about 2 weeks to post the prepared images to my main website because I’ve had several weddings this week with more to come next week.

For now, I hope you’ve enjoyed looking at the above ‘taster images’.

If you are getting married soon or if you know anyone else who is getting married soon and you like the way we work, please remember to recommend us.

Meanwhile, please leave a comment for me – tell me what you think

Victoria & David – Wedding Photography by Victoria Jane Photography

Sometimes I work along-side other photographers and if I’m not ‘in-charge’ on the day it can make a nice change and allows me to take more of the informal shots where the guests aren’t always looking directly at the camera. I was pleased to be asked to help out by doing some wedding photography at Victoria and David’s wedding at St. Andrews church in Keresley, Coventry, followed by a wonderful reception at Nailcote Hall. All of the images below were taken by me ….

My Sporting Challenge – Welsh Rugby Football!

NO!

I Wasn’t playing …. but I felt as though I was!

I did so much moving around just trying to get a good shot or two!

I was set a challenge by my long term friend, Ian Golden, who writes reports on Welsh Rugby matches for a variety of websites and newspapers. He knows about my Wedding and Children’s photography …..but of course, most people are standing still or moving quite slowly. His challenge was to bring my camera and wedding photography lenses along to a fast-moving Rugby match and see how I cope!

I must have done quite well since he’s used some of my photos already to accompany his articles. Here’s one link for you to have a look ….
