A busy time lately!

I’ve been so busy in the last few weeks that I’ve not had time to update my blog or my website! I’ve done loads of photo shoots and some weddings in the last month and I’ve started to pick up some business via our family shop in Coventry.

Grace and Phillip had a wonderful wedding at Hampton Manor near to Solihull. It was a wedding with a little twist with some german tradition being part of the festivities. Phillip was dashing and Grace was absolutely stunning in her dress! You’ll love the photos and so will they when they see the full selection.

I got a call from a Rugby dance studio last week. They needed a photographer urgently …. one hour later!! Two hours later I’d taken over 800 shots of the most talented youngsters you’re likely to see on stage. A wonderful dress rehearsal and a delight to be a witness to their skill. I really hope I get to do more photographs for them in the future. Images to come once I’ve got parental permission.

My family owns a very popular shop in the Earlsdon area of Coventry. It is called Phoenix Office and Printer Supplies at 43 Earlsdon St, Coventry.

Many local people will remember my husband and I owned the original Cartridge World store there until we decided to leave the franchise in early 2009. We’ve not been working in Earlsdon for over a year but it’s certain that many of our old customers and local residents will remember us. The shop specialises in supplying printers, photo printers, ink cartridges, refilling ink cartridges and selling all sorts of office stationery. From this week I’m helping out in there some afternoons. I’m going to be helping with the introduction of digital cameras and specialist photo printers…..and to add to what’s on offer in the shop we are now making it easier for people to speak to me face to face and to book any of my photography services in the shop.

Charlecote Pheasant Wedding Fayre

I’ve just got home from the Charlecote Pheasant hotel wedding fayre today. Charlecote Pheasant hotel is near to Stratford Upon Avon.

I hope you enjoyed my video slide show, looking at my display albums and finding out more about my photography services….. and I hope my new wedding package information sheets made sense!

This year, I’ve added several new packages and either extra coverage for your money or enhanced products. Of course, I’ll still do bespoke packages to suit your individual needs.

I had loads of interest in my Graphi-Studio digital albums which are my personal favourites! I now offer a Graphi Studio album option in all of my wedding album packages starting at only £695!

I really enjoy producing the designs for these albums myself. Hopefully this shows in my work. I don’t believe in doing what some photographers do: they take the photos and then send them to Graphi Studio for them to do the album design. I think this is very impersonal and doesn’t accurately reflect the nature of the day. I take pride in capturing those special moments that happen in the day and to me each image is part of the overall story, rather than just another photo! I’m then able to build my album designs based on my knowledge of what happened, when and why!

Grace and Philipp – Pre-Wedding Shoot

We met Grace and Philipp today, a lovely couple who we instantly got on well with! We were at Hampton Manor near to Meriden and we met to plan their wedding photography and to help them to get used to being in-front of the camera.

What a lovely choice of venue! Really nice inside and out – a perfect choice!

It was very bright and sunny, but it was absolutely freezing! I could hardly feel my fingers by the time we’d finished!

When we do photo shoots we always provide a range of images that have been colour corrected, selectively cropped, are a mixture of B&W and full colour and sometimes with selective ‘colour-popping’.

We’ve agreed with Grace and Philipp that my husband, Gary, will go along as a second photographer at their wedding. We often do this! It enables us to get more shots and to use different lenses at the same time for similar shots.

We’re told that Philipp often closes his eyes when being photographed. Not this time! …….Too quick for him!

Hope you all agree that they are very photogenic couple and I’m really looking forward to their wedding at this lovely venue in March. I can’t wait to meet their family and friends who will be visiting from as far a-field as Singapore, New Zealand and Germany! I’m sure it will be a fabulous day!

We can do individual shots, group shots, High key and Low Key shots. I’ll then prepare a comprehensive mixture of images (including a mixture of full-colour, cropped, black and white, ‘colour-popped’ images). The images will be presented on the password-protected area of my website for you to view. You can then choose your favourite image to have printed onto Canvas, ready to hang on your wall.

Other Products

You would then be free to buy other prints or products if you wish: whether they be mounted prints of various sizes, block frame prints, presentation print boxes, acrylic block-mounted prints etc. We can do just about anything you want!

A taster – a small mixture of my images from 2009

Hopefully, while I get other images ready, this will give you a flavour of some of my recent work.

Some Notes, for interest:

You’ll see that I concentrate mostly on weddings and family/childrens portraits.

I’m equally happy to leave the images as they were or I’ll ‘play’ with them to give a variety of effects ranging from the ‘Warhol’ style (the one shown is my 20 month old daughter, Jess!) to Black and White conversions, Sepia or Antique effect (not shown here), selective ‘Colour-Popping’ (selected coloured objects highlighted on a B&W photo) etc.

Wherever possible, I like to introduce fun into my family portraits. The young lady in the Ladybird costume was thoroughly enjoying herself jumping on a trampoline (I’m not even sure she noticed the camera during some of the shots) and what you see is a series of photos in a simple montage.

The teenager in-front of the colourful background wasn’t really there! …. Or at least the background wasn’t, I created it! She was actually in her friend’s living room. This sort of effect is time consuming but I love doing it!

I thoroughly enjoy doing weddings, large and small. I like capturing the traditional formal shots (the ones that everyone expects) but I also love the informal shots that tell the ‘story of the day’. My husband, Gary, often attends weddings with me. Together, we try to capture the little details that make the day: the rings, flowers, make-up, shoes, button holes, wine glasses as well as the emotions – the nervous looks, the laughs, the gasps, the tears, the joy!

Happy New Year!

It’ been a great start to the new year already. I’ve had several enquiries for my wedding photography: One for 2012! Very organised!!

I’m meeting a future bride and groom on Wednesday (they met me at a wedding fayre that I did in November near to Stratford) to discuss their photography and I’ve had some extra orders for prints from two brides whose weddings I photographed late last year.

Meanwhile, I’ve had an enquiry from a fantastic wildlife photographer who is interested in me doing some canvas prints for him. I’ll add a link to his site if he decides to work with me!

Busy, busy, busy!

I’ll get some images up here soon. Bear with me while I add more to this blog.
