Over Christmas I had the opportunity to photograph a lovely family at their home in Kenilworth.

After much bribery with biscuits & children’s tv (thank goodness for Justin’s House) we finally managed to get all the kids- big & little 🙂 !! to sit for a group shot & with two wonderfully active children that’s no mean feet !

Today was a great chance to play with my new contemporary wall paper backdrop & wooden flooring as well as my all white backdrop.

The Faulkner Family | Freezing Photoshoot! …. By Victoria Jane Photography

Paul and his cousin, Tracey, booked me a couple of weeks ago to do a very quick photo shoot for around 30 members of their family. Little did we all know that it would be the first weekend of snow this November! Still, we went ahead as planned and met at the Rugby Town FC ground with family members travelling from all around the country. We worked quickly so that nobody froze to death but I have to say that I couldn’t really feel my fingers very well for a while afterwards. Here’s a taster image from the ones I took this afternoon and more will be appearing on my main website.

Emma, Ben & Family | Family Photography by Victoria Jane Photography in Warwickshire

I had a request from a lady who wanted to buy a special Birthday present for her daughter-in-law, Emma, and family. She had seen my website and decided to book me for a family photo shoot at their home. I took along my white backdrop and studio lights, set up in their living room and spent about an hour taking photographs. They were a lovely family (including the kitten who kept trying to get in on the action!). Here’s some samples …………

We had a lot of fun doing this family photo shoot, I always do! I’ll be uploading quite a few more edited images to my website for the family to view.

Whenever I do family shoots like this I always provide a variety of images that are colour corrected, selectively cropped and with some special effects applied …. to add some extra interest! All of the images are high resolution and can be blown up to virtually any size a family is likely to want. I offer a very wide range of photo products to display the images from coffee table albums to canvas prints, acrylic block displays, presentation boxes, or simply prints to be framed as my clients wish.

I’m in the process of developing a range of packages to suit a variety of budgets and will announce these soon. A Recipe for Children’s Photography Success (when it’s pouring down outside!)

  1. Find a suitable room, in this case a conservatory
  2. Set up 4 studio lights with soft boxes in-front of a portable white backdrop
  3. For the techies among you; add a 5DMkii, a couple of Pocket Wizards and an 8 GB CF card
  4. Mix in a few cuddly toys, some coloured plastic balls, a jingly-jangly jester, and a very popular bubble machine
  5. Finally, add the two cutest toddlers (well, ok …. one toddler and one not quite crawling)

AND ….. Hey Presto!!

……. You’ve got a fantastic set of photos for the whole family to drool over!!!

5 Minute Photos!

We visited some old friends in Staffordshire yesterday and I took my camera. I grabbed the chance to take a few snaps of their boys. The whole session only took 5 minutes but I’m pleased with the images I got. Some are shown below:

These boys were great! Very co-operative for the whole 5 minutes! Not bad considering there were footballs, trikes, bikes and spades to play with!

Session prices start at £50 for about an hours worth of photography and image processing afterwards.  As you can see I’m quite happy to do modern photography with children having a great time. I love working with children of all ages. The sessions are often fun and unpredictable but I do everything possible to ensure they enjoy being in-front of the camera and I think their enjoyment comes through in the photographs. These two youngsters were delightful and funny! I had a great time!!

If you live near to Coventry or Rugby (incl Leamington, Kenilworth, Warwick, Stratford, Meriden, Solihull etc) I’m willing to come to your home, set up my portable studio equipment and do a photo shoot of you and your family. We can do individual shots, group shots, High key and Low Key shots. I’ll then prepare a comprehensive mixture of images (including a mixture of full-colour, cropped, black and white, ‘colour-popped’ images). The images will be presented on the password-protected area of my website for you to view. You can then choose your favourite image to have printed onto Canvas, ready to hang on your wall.

You would then be free to buy other prints or products if you wish: whether they be mounted prints of various sizes, block frame prints, presentation print boxes, acrylic block-mounted prints etc. We can do just about anything you want!
