Tess and Tom are such a lovely couple that we couldn’t help but smile most of the day.  The wedding ceremony and celebrations all took place at The Windmill Village Hotel, Coventry. We were photographing their wedding right from Tess getting ready until late into the evening celebrations. Tess & Tom were very keen to have not only group & posed shots but as much reportage style photography as time allowed … needless to say, with guests enjoying themselves & the weather on our side, guests spent as much time chatting, drinking & laughing outside, as they could … so plenty of photo opportunities :) !!  Here are just a few photos from their day! ……..

If you are thinking of getting married and you want a fun photographer who offers flexibility along with creativity please give me a call on 07739096632.

We really enjoyed this wedding! Laura and Danny are such a lovely couple; the sort of people that you warm to immediately! I knew in our first meeting that I wanted to photograph their wedding and that they would be the sort of people that would appreciate the effort that we go to. I could tell this simply by the effort that they, and their family and friends, have obviously gone to in order to make their day that extra bit special.

We started off by travelling to Laura’s lovely family home in Crick for some bridal preparation photographs. We spent an hour or so taking photographs of some of the little details that added to the day; the beautiful flowers in their garden, the specially chosen shoes and dresses for Laura and her bridesmaids, the decor of the house, Jewellery etc…. as well as some quiet family photographs in the back garden.

From there, a short walk up to St. Margaret’s church, which unfortunately was steeped in scaffolding due to recent restoration work (I dare you to see it in the photos though!). Gary was at the back during the service, sometimes at floor level and discretely and silently moving up onto the organist balcony for a better viewpoint. I stayed at the front to capture the ‘action’ close-up.

After some group photos in the church grounds and a nice confetti shot we all drove to the very lovely and relaxing Wethele Manor near to Leamington Spa. This was a new Warwickshire venue for us but I’ve no doubt we’ll be back there some time soon. We did some more group photographs as well as some of Laura and Danny on their own before going inside the impressive marquee for the fantastic food supplied by Aubrey Allen catering. In the evening there was a disco, plenty of relaxing for guests outside in the sunshine and our photo booth proved, once again, to be a a real highlight and a source of great amusement.

After a busy Christmas most people like to chill out … Not Sarah :) … as well as her tireless fund raising for Macmillan Cancer Support in Coventry & Warkwickshire, being a full-time mum & preparing for Christmas, Sarah was also organising her wedding … which included making all her guests individual cup cakes (yum) – Mad, I know!

So I guess it was quite fitting that she used equally mad photographers to capture her & Darren’s special day

- Stuart (Will the mad fool make it?) Kettell & myself !!

We’ve both known Sarah for a number of years & as well as all being good friends, Stuart & I (more recently) also help raise money for Macmillan.

The Weather can always be an interesting challenge for the photographer & today was no exception! The ground still had a light covering of snow, in patches, & as we approached The Forest Hotel in Dorridge we also had a thick fog to contend with.

Below are a selection of images from Sarah & Darren’s Wedding day

As Sarah & the girls get ready …

… We meet the two most important young men of the day!

Also in the above picture we have the Groom, Darren (bottom rhs) & best man (bottom lhs).

Apparently they are always this angelic!

Sarah’s bridesmaids looking stunning.

Sarah’s Dad proudly walks his daughter down the aisle.

The exchange of rings followed by the reading “the Lovely other Dinosaur” by Sarah’s sister.  Proudly helping out, Sarah & Darren’s boys hold up drawings they’ve made to illustrate the poem – ahh :)

The Kiss!

It’s official.

The lengths we’ll go to as photographers to get the shot …

Darren serenades his beautiful bride

(while I stand in 4″ of water on the flat roof of the hotel just to capture the moment)

Sarah had thought of everything ……… :)

For the observant among you, even the photographers ended up being photographed!!

And as the evening drew to an end …

… We had time for one final image ♥

Emel and Viktor got married at the Forest of Arden Hotel and Golf club near to Maxstoke between Coventry and Solihull in Warwickshire and we were there to photograph their wedding – starting with Emel getting ready through to just beyond their first dance. This was a really interesting wedding for us to photograph since we were interested in the two cultures (Emel’s family are Turkish and Viktor’s are Hungarian) and also, Emel and Viktor were very keen for us to try something ‘artistic’ for their ‘newlywed  couple shots’. We really enjoyed doing their wedding photography, despite a few language difficulties during the group shots, and having to dodge the rain after the ceremony! Here’s a taster of the photographs to come. We’ve spent many hours editing images so far and we haven’t finished yet. This will, hopefully, whet you appetite ………

Viktor, dressed in a very smart suit before the ceremony … with best man and usher either side. At this point in the day it was incredibly bright sunshine with no available shade outside, hence the slight squinting ….

The rings (look carefully inside the button hole) ….. being kept safe ….

I’m not sure whether the men were expecting to do a short warm up but I didn’t give them much choice!

Meanwhile, Emel was being made to look even more gorgeous than she already is …..

Here she is, just into her fantastic dress – absolutely stunning! ….

And with her very elegant bouquet ….

Viktor was obviously bowled over by his beautiful bride … and who wouldn’t be? The service ….

Time for a quick plug about our use of two photographers – notice that during the service we’ve got shots from the front and the back. You simply can’t do that if you’ve only got one photographer!

After the ceremony, dodging the rain for some group shots ….

And now for some of the photographs that Emel and Viktor were particularly interested in trying ….

These were taken just off to the side of one of the Greens (it’s a golf club!). Luckily, it was 4:30 in the afternoon and most of the golfers had finished their rounds ….

I was really pleased that Emel and Viktor both wanted to spend some time doing the photography. It was nice not to be rushed and I think the variety of shots we were able to try was better as a result. The ones shown here are just a few….. and we had a few good giggles along the way!

Back inside the hotel. You might remember these images (in normal clothes!) when we did the pre-wedding photo shoot just to get Emel and Viktor used to being in-front of the camera. I think it paid off on the day because Emel and Viktor were both very comfortable in-front of the cameras.

The evening entertainment allowed everyone to let their hair down a little and really show us how it’s done – complete with belly dancer just after the first dance to start things off …..

I hope you liked looking at these images. Of course, we took many more photographs on the day and we are still editing them ready to present properly to Emel and Viktor. If you were a wedding guest and you want to view the full set of images you will need to speak to Emel and Viktor to get the password. The finalised images will be on my main website in a few weeks time; www.victoriajanephotography.co.uk in a gallery devoted to just Emel and Viktor’s photographs.

Meanwhile, I’m taking bookings for wedding photography at the Forest of Arden and many similar lovely locations throughout Warwickshire and the West Midlands. If you want to find out more or if you are looking for a photographer for your own wedding please do contact me on 07739096632 or send me an email.

Lastly, if you’ve looked at these images or if you were at the wedding please make a comment by clicking on the green link below. I love to hear what people think!   Vicky x

Today (Saturday 7th August) was one of the nicest weddings that any photographer could hope to be a part of.

What a lovely couple Kayley and Adam are ….. and their guests too!

They had their marriage ceremony at Carters Lane church in Halesowen followed by a lovely reception meal and evening disco at the Westmead hotel in Hopwood. The weather was predicted to be against us today but we were lucky enough to find some breaks in between the showers to get some decent photos outside. Kayley and Adam are both very photogenic as you’ll see below, the bridesmaids looked absolutely lovely and the groomsmen were not only great fun but they were really helpful and co-operative all day.

They had booked one of my album packages where my husband, Gary, and I both attended. I’ve spent a couple of hours so far reviewing the many images that we got and I’m really pleased! We always do our best to get the shots that our Brides and Grooms ask for whilst capturing the full ‘story of the day’ and hopefully injecting some ‘fun’ without being too intrusive. Hopefully, we succeeded. Here’s a taster of the images to come for Kayley and Adam ……………….

Many Congratulations to Kayley and Adam!

If you were a guest or if you want to view the images when they are fully prepared you’ll need to visit my main site (click on my image on the right hand side of this blog). You’ll need to get a password from Adam or Kayley in order to view (and buy if you wish) the images. I anticipate that it will take me about 2 weeks to post the prepared images to my main website because I’ve had several weddings this week with more to come next week.

For now, I hope you’ve enjoyed looking at the above ‘taster images’.

If you are getting married soon or if you know anyone else who is getting married soon and you like the way we work, please remember to recommend us.

Meanwhile, please leave a comment for me – tell me what you think

Gary and I did the photography at Kelly and Michael’s wedding at the Royal Court Hotel in Keresley in Coventry. The weather was predicted to be pretty awful but we got away with it! Here’s a sneak preview of some of the images from their lovely wedding ……

Fantastic Family - Mum and Dad hiding in the background!

We thoroughly enjoyed doing the photographs for Kelly and Michael. They are such a nice couple, very natural in-front of the cameras and easy to work with. They’ve got three fantastic children who looked great and were really well behaved, polite and cooperative.

I’ll be posting many more prepared images to my main website shortly. You’ll need a password to access them all so please ask Kelly or Michael if you’d like to view them.

I always encourage my wedding couples to meet me before their wedding day at their chosen venue to discuss their ideas about their wedding day and to decide which photographs they would like and where in the grounds or buildings we will plan to take them.

Here’s a flavour of the practice shots I did for Kelly and Michael who are getting married later this month at the Royal Court Hotel in Coventry.

Kelly and Michael - this location will be ideal on the day

Getting Comfortable

I’m really pleased that Kelly and Michael took to the camera so easily. They are obviously very comfortable with each other and this really enabled me to get some natural shots right from the start. I know they are going to look great on their wedding day and I’m really looking forward to capturing all of their special memories for them.

From time to time I get requests to work along-side other photographers. I’m quite ‘picky’ about who I work with because I like working with people for whom I’ve got respect for their skills and overall approach. One Coventry Photographer and Videographer who I often work with is Stuart Kettell who owns Kettell Video Productions in Coventry. Sometimes, when he is asked to do videos he asks me to do the photography for him, and sometimes we both do the photography together.

On 5th June I attended Bev and Matt’s wedding at the Heart Of England Events and Conference Centre in Fillongley, Meriden, between Coventry and Solihull. Stuart was the main photographer but I still took loads of photos on the day and Stuart now has many of my specially chosen and manipulated images to present to Bev and Matt as he chooses. Here’s a flavour of the day (all images shown below were taken by me):

St. Thomas' church, Keresley, Coventry

Stuart was leading this wedding but Star jumps (when the grooms’ men are willing…and able) are a nice ice-breaker that we both regularly use at our weddings.

Inside St Thomas' Church, Keresley, Coventry

It’s lovely when the features of a building such as these arch-ways can be used to ‘form a frame’ around the main subjects of the image (the bride and groom). This example shows why it can be beneficial to have two photographers at your wedding (which we do for almost every wedding we take on) since Stuart was concentrating on different photos from a different location while I was able to get these ones.

The Kiss!

Didn’t she look lovely? Matt is a lucky man!

Another example of the second photographer (me, in this case) being able to get a shot that a photographer on their own wouldn’t get because they are almost always near to the front and at the side at this point in the service.

You’ll notice I’ve chosen some black and white images to show you here. When I present images to my wedding clients I always include a nice mixture of black and white conversions, colour-popped images (black and white with some colours highlighted) as well as many full-colour images so that there are plenty to choose from.

I really liked the release of the white doves. Look carefully!!

What a lovely day. I always enjoy the weddings I attend and I strive to capture as much of the emotion and joy as I possibly can.

Heart of England Events and Conference Centre, Fillongley, near Meriden

I’ve now attended a few events at the Heart of England Events and Conference Centre at Fillongley near to Meriden (between Coventry and Solihull) in Warwickshire. It’s a great choice of venue for any wedding reception with great facilities and wonderful grounds. You can find out more about what’s on offer by visiting the Heart of England site click here

Rocks? ..... we don't normally get those in the midlands!

Going for a paddle - but not trashing the dress!

A relaxing break ..... at the beach!!

One of the things I always do at my weddings is to come prepared. Most photographers have a couple of lenses that they know will do most of what they want, and they are happy to take those. I always take extra lenses, including powerful telephoto zoom lenses …… because you never quite know what’s going to happen and how far away you’ll be! When I took the images of Bev and Matt on the water and on the beach I was no-where near to them ….. but I got the shots ….. and hopefully they will serve as a great memory for them in the future.

And Finally…..

Great evening entertainment

Even when I’m attending as a ‘second shooter’ I still show the same level of commitment as when I’m there in the lead role. Gary (my husband) always does the same when he second-shoots for me. We were there for 12 hours that day but it was well worth it and I know that Bev and Matt will have a fantastic selection of images to choose from for their album.

If you’d like more information about my own wedding packages or if you like the idea of talking to me about your wedding and the advantages of having a ‘second shooter’ there (free of charge!) please do contact me on 07739096632 or email me.

Gary and I had the pleasure of meeting up with Adam and Kay who are getting married in August (they’re well organised!). We met up to take a look at the church and the reception venue and I took my camera along to help them to get used to being in-front of the lens. Here are a few images from the day………..

Meet Adam and Kay!

Getting confident in-front of the camera!

It's usually all about the bride - Sorry Adam!

Lovely couple!

This was an impromptu photo session. Kay and Adam weren’t expecting it but I think, after a little initial shyness, they soon started to enjoy themselves! I know they’ll look great when it comes to the real day! They are such a lovely couple and I can’t wait!

Philipp and Grace had a wonderful wedding day at Hampton Manor near to Solihull. It was a cold but bright day and such a lovely location for a wedding. Grace and Philipp made a lovely couple with Grace looking absolutely stunning in her dress.

Hampton Manor in Hampton in Arden

Wonderful location for a special wedding

First glimpse of Grace’s outfit – and a few special touches!

First glimpse of the dress ... Wow!

Guests from around the world enjoyed a lovely service conducted by the registrars from nearby Solihull. It’s always nice when we are given freedom to take pictures during the service…..but we don’t distract by using flash.

Grace and Philipp's Service

A cold day but the weather held for us. I absolutely love this photograph of Grace. It was extremely bright one minute and cloudy the next throughout the afternoon but the light in this one was just right!

A Gorgeous Bride!

A great time was had by all in the evening. It was really nice to see the cultural mix of German guests, New Zealanders and some of Grace’s family from the Philippines. Some great dancers were on show!

A Lovely First Dance

I’ve taken two weeks to go through the 1400+ images that Gary and I took on the day. I’ve chosen about 330 of my favourite images and put them on the password protected area of my website. If you were a guest at the wedding or if you know Grace and Philipp and you’d like to see the other photos please contact Grace. I’m afraid I won’t give out the password without her permission. I do this to protect the privacy of all my clients, especially where images of children are included.

I hope you’ve enjoyed this little taster of my wedding photography.
